Click here for a beautiful VIRTUAL TOUR of this property FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS YOUR ADDRESS? 13917
East Ingalls Bay Road, Omena, MI 49674. We are 30 minutes north
of Traverse City, Michigan. We are less than 5 1/2 hours drive from Chicago and less than 4 1/2 hours
drive from Detroit.
HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM…. Every
drive in Leelanau County is a beautiful drive. Northport: 6 miles, Suttons Bay 7 miles, Leland 11 miles,
Traverse City: 24 miles, Detroit: 280 miles, Chicago: 345 miles, Sydney, Australia: 9,500 miles. Don’t be overly
worried if MapQuest or Google list long drive times, as those programs usually use an unrealistic 35 MPH. The roads are mostly
55 MPH and rarely crowded. Watch for deer though.
HOW
DO I GET THERE? From Traverse City, take M-22 through Suttons Bay
to Omena. Go thru tiny Omena, stay on M-22 and take the second "Omena Point Road" entrance (NOT by the water) to
the right, then take the second Ingalls Bay Road to the left (NOT the first left by the orchard). We are the first driveway
on the right. WHAT
IS THE MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY? There are 4 bedrooms for 8 adults in the main house and 3 bunk beds(all doubles) that
sleep up to 12 in the bunk house. It sleeps 14 VERY comfortably. WHAT
DEGREE OF PRIVACY DO I HAVE? Lots. First of all, even though you have 320’ of private beach, but it feels
like even more. We have found that everybody, renters and owners up and down the beach, are very respectful of each other.
The property is wooded and feels very private. IS THERE
A GROCERY STORE NEARBY? There is a Tom’s Grocery, a medium (not tiny) grocery store, just 10 minutes from
Bliss Bay. There’s also a cute little country store for liquor/beer and miscellaneous groceries just two minutes from
the house.
YOU ARE UNAVAILABLE FOR MY ONLY AVAILABLE
WEEK. ANY SUGGESTIONS? You bet! I can either a) See if the guest booked is flexible (you’d be surprised)
or b) Find you something close by.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES? $500 deposit, with
50% payment due at time of booking, and the balance due on day of arrival.
YOUR SITE SAYS THAT IT IS PET
FRIENDLY, IS THAT ACCURATE? Yep. Just make sure they are well mannered. The last thing I ever want to do is
keep deposit money.
WHAT IS BLISS BAY BEACH
WORTH? Bliss Bay was recently appraised for $2,050,000.
HOW DEEP IS THE BEACH? 50' to 70' feet from the trees to the
water.
HOW FAR IS THE HOUSE FROM THE BEACH? The house is pretty much on the beach. The
porch stairs end at the sand.
IS THIS YOUR PRIVATE BEACH? Yes. Bliss Bay is actually
three lots, the middle lot with the house and the other two natural with no buildings.
CAN I WALK
DOWN THE BEACH? Yes. Michigan Law allows everybody to walk down the beach, up to the high water mark, which
is pretty far back.
HOW CAN I RENT JET SKIS, A SKI BOAT, ETC.? Call Sunset rentals at: (231)932-1800.
The website is : www.sunsetwatersports.com.
WHAT WAS
INVOLVED IN THE RENOVATION? First, we ripped out all the interior
walls, the electrical, and the plumbing. Then we added designer tile, tongue and groove ceilings and walls, big walkouts, satellite
TV, kayaks, beach chairs, bright outside lighting, original artwork, We crammed every fun and colorful idea we could into
this wonderful cottage for your BLISSFUL delight! IS
THE WATER GOOD FOR SWIMMING? No, it is EXCELLENT! The water is a little cooler than a small lake, but fine in
the Peak Season. Kids will spend all day in it, and adults spend hours. If your kids love to swim all day in June or September,
and you expect cooler water temps, get them a cheap wetsuit before you arrive. It also provides extra buoyancy. WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY? 20 with kids doubling up
in the double beds. Four couples have there own bedrooms with Queen beds, and that leaves six bunks in the bunkroom.
WHAT DEGREE OF PRIVACY DO I HAVE? Lots. First of all, even though you have 320’ of private
beach, but it feels like even more. We have found that everybody, renters and owners up and down the beach, are very respectful
of each other.
WHAT SIZE ARE THE BEDS? All inside bedrooms have big queens, and the bunk
room has eight singles.
IS THERE AIR CONDITIONING? Yes, but there is a small chance
that you will need it!
WHAT IF WE WANT TO STAY FOR JUST TWO DAYS? Short stays are limited
availability. Always call or email for short stays.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? The best advice
I ever heard for vacationing is bring half the cloths and twice the money. However, most folks don’t need the cash because
they don’t want to leave the property. Don’t bring linens, they are provided. Enough toilet paper and paper towels
are provided to last the first 24 hours (at least) by the cleaning folks. We also provide 4 boogie boards, 2 kayaks,
horseshoes, and beach chairs. If your kids love to swim all day, and you expect cooler water temps, get them a cheap wetsuit
before you arrive. It also provides extra buoyancy.
YOUR SITE SAYS THAT IT IS PET FRIENDLY, IS THAT ACCURATE? Yep. Just make sure they are well mannered. The last thing I ever want to do is keep deposit money.

FISHING? Abundent fishing is available nearby. Leland has terrific big-water charter fishing. Just pick the most expensive
looking charter boat available, because the more fish these guy catch, the more they book up. Everyone has told me that all
the guys with charter fishing boats in Leland do a good job, and I have yet to hear to the contrary.
Finally, the "Lucky Seven" reasons to stay at Bliss Bay rather than
a hotel! 1. BlissBay is decorated like a 5 Star
Caribbean Vacation Home.
2. BlissBay offers considerably more space than you will find in the typical hotel
room. Your families can vacation together and still have "room to breathe."
3. BlissBay offers
excellent flexibility. Unlike a typical hotel room, Bliss Bay includes kitchen facilities. You don't have to eat out
for every meal (but of course you can if you want too!).
4. BlissBay contains many personal & convenience
items that will increase your comfort on vacation.
5. BlissBay was designed to be lived in by it’s
owners (Linda and I) and as such, it’s not like the typical "sterile" environment found in hotels and other
"vacation establishments". We put our heart and soul into making Bliss Bay wonderful.
6. We’re
able to provide you with tips and hints that only we locals know. This can make a huge difference in the enjoyment of your
trip.
7. Renting BlissBay offers the affordability, exceptional value, and personal attention that you deserve!

QUESTIONS FROM THE KIDS!
WHAT ARE THE BEST THINGS TO DO WHILE THERE? The beach is great, so you can do all of the things that you might do at a great resort. Play volleyball,
lay in the sun, build sand castles, catch fish and frogs and crayfish. There is a swim tramp out in the water, and
you can spend all afternoon fooling around on that. If
you get tired of the beach, the road is great for bikes. The Bunkroom is the perfect fun room to party with your friends.
You have a HD TV big screen with X-Box, X-Box 360, and WII. There's lots of deer and turkeys in the area, and they are fun
to chase in the woods, because they are kinda tame. The woods are cool, and you'll have lots of places to build forts or go
tree climbing.
CAN I BRING MY OWN GAMES
AND DVDS AND STUFF? Sure. ARE
THE BEDS GOOD? You bet. They have a really good mattress, with a special bunk board, and cross members. Not
like those squishy weird beds you may have had to use at hotels.
CAN WE TURN UP THE TUNES WITHOUT THE PARENTS YELLING AT US ALL THE TIME? Yes,
the bunkhouse is close to the house, but it's separate, so you can play video and tunes loud and not bother the parents.
IS THERE AIR CONDITIONING? Yes, but there is a very small chance that you will need it! The
house is shaded in the afternoon.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Bring video games, any other games
you like, and your tunes. We also provide 4 boogie boards, 2 kayaks, horseshoes, and beach chairs.
CAN
OUR DOG COME? Yep. Just make sure they are well mannered.
HOW FAR IS THE HOUSE FROM THE BEACH? It's right there next to it.
WHAT’S
IT LIKE AT NIGHT? Really cool. You will see and hear owls sometimes. The stars are amazing and the beach is
perfect for fires for marshmellows, somores, and ghost stories.
CAN WE BUILD A FIRE ON THE BEACH? Absolutely.
DO YOU HAVE SATELLITE TV? Yes, we have DirecTV Premium. The TV is in the bunk room.
IS THIS OUR PRIVATE BEACH? Yes. And it's really big.
CAN I WALK DOWN THE BEACH? Yes. CAN I FISH? Yes, and there are some big ones right in front of the house.
